A shrine in Choshi enshrining Sarutahiko no Mikoto as the guardian deity of maritime safety. Choshi is a fishing port facing the Pacific, and this was an important shrine for fishermen setting out to sea. The shrine grove, with vegetation uniquely adapted to strong Pacific winds, is designated a Chiba Prefecture natural monument.
