A national cemetery in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, established in 1959. Built primarily to house the remains of unknown war dead whose bones could not be collected from overseas battlefields. Located along Hanzobori moat on part of the former Army and Navy Ministry grounds, designed by Yoshimura Junzo. Chidorigafuchi Cherry Blossom Festival
About 260 Somei Yoshino cherry trees bloom along the Imperial Palace moat, one of Tokyo's premier sakura spots. Visitors can enjoy cherry blossoms reflected on the water from rowboats. Evening illumination creates a magical nighttime experience, drawing about 1 million visitors.
