One of Japan's three oldest hot springs, located in the northern foothills of Mount Rokko. Mentioned in the Nihon Shoki as visited by Emperor Jomei in 631, boasting over 1,400 years of history. Beloved by Toyotomi Hideyoshi and his wife Nene; the ruins of Hideyoshi's bath were rediscovered after the 1995 earthquake. Features two unique waters: reddish iron-rich "Kinsen" and clear "Ginsen."
The origins of Arima Onsen are said to date back to mythological times, with legend holding that the deities Okuninushi and Sukunahikona discovered the springs.
