A dramatic seaside Kannon-do hall in Nu­muma-cho, Fukuyama, built atop a cliff jutting into the Inland Sea. Founded by Mori Terumoto in the late 16th century as part of Bandaiji Temple (Rinzai-shu Myoshinji-ha), it enshrines an Eleven-faced Kannon and is venerated for safe sea voyages, safe childbirth, and fertility.
