Three Surprising Facts
Creator of the Red Guard
He created the "Red Guard" by unifying all armor, flags, and horse gear in red. This made allies instantly recognizable and terrorized enemies. After the Takeda fell, Ii Naomasa inherited the tradition, and the "Red Guard of Ii" fought at Sekigahara.
Death at Nagashino
At the Battle of Nagashino (1575), he charged into Oda-Tokugawa gunfire. Hit by bullets before the wooden barricades, he died a heroic death at 47 — the last blaze of Takeda glory.
