生涯
Born in Tosa. Studied in France as a Meiji government scholar and translated Rousseau's Social Contract into classical Chinese as the Min'yaku Yakkai. He became the theoretical pillar of the Freedom and People's Rights Movement and served as a member of the House of Representatives.
