生涯
Eldest son of Kusunoki Masashige. After his father's death at Minatogawa, he was sent home at age 11 in the famous "Sakurai parting." Later as a chief Southern Court general he fought Kō no Moronao at Shijōnawate, taking his own life with his brother Masatoki at 22.

四條畷の戦い
1348年1月、河内国四條畷（現在の大阪府四條畷市）で楠木正行（まさつら）が足利方の高師直軍と戦い討ち死にした合戦。楠木正行は父・正成の遺志を継いで南朝のために戦い続けたが、圧倒的多数の高師直・師泰軍を迎え撃って敗れた。正行は弟や一族と共に戦死し、「大楠公」の子「小楠公」として後世に称えられた。戦前には忠君愛国の象徴として祀られた四條畷神社はその戦死の地に建つ。この敗戦により南朝の軍事力は著しく低下し、南北朝の形勢は北朝・足利方に大きく傾いた歴史的合戦として知られる。
