A scion of the Kiyohara of Dewa. The internal feud with his elder brother Sanehira and nephew Kiyohira ignited the Later Three Years' War. Attacked by Yoshiie, he died at the Kanezawa stockade, opening the way for the rise of the Northern Fujiwara.
