Head of the Akamatsu, shugo of Harima. In 1441, fearing the loss of his lands, he invited Shōgun Ashikaga Yoshinori to his mansion and assassinated him (the Kakitsu Incident). Hunted down by Yamana Mochitoyo and others, he committed suicide at Shiroyama castle in Harima, briefly extinguishing the main Akamatsu line.
