A vassal based in Adachi District of Musashi Province who joined Yoritomo's uprising from the early days. Distinguished by both military and administrative talents, he was appointed to the Kumonjo (later Mandokoro), handling the shogunate's clerical work. This combination of civil and martial skill earned deep trust from Yoritomo. He helped build the foundational administrative structure that allowed the Kamakura Shogunate to develop into a sophisticated governing apparatus. After Yoritomo's death in 1199, he was selected as one of the Thirteen Councilors, supporting collective leadership alongside the Hojo and Oe families. Though his exact dates are unknown, he was an exemplary civil-administrative vassal of the late 12th to early 13th century.
