Chief of the Six Districts in Mutsu and head of the Emishi descendants. Initially aligned with Minamoto no Yoriyoshi, he rebelled, sparking the Earlier Nine Years' War, and died from a stray arrow during the conflict. His sons Sadatō and Munetō carried on the resistance.
